Dreamcast.nu is a site devoted to entertainment and retro gaming. We are also found on Twitter/X (https://twitter.com/NLightsRetro) and Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/@northernlights9472) under the name Northern Lights Retro Gaming. The name comes from where I was born and currently reside: northern Sweden. I was born in the 1980s. In the end of that decade I developed an interest for computers and videogames. My first game was a Nintendo Game and Watch Bombsweeper that I still got in my collection. I also spent numerous hours with a Kasparov Computer Chess (Saitek).
I invested in my first video games and computer relatively late: I think I bought my Commodore 64 in the beginning of the 1990s. Later, my father bought me a Gameboy, which I played a lot in our summerhouse. For some reason I also bought an Atari 2600 (junior), just to realize that the games for this console had aged pretty badly. Instead, I later bought a NES, and also got a Super NES for my birthday. After trying Doom and other games, I sold most of my collection of games to buy my first PC: A Compaq Presario 433 (Intel 80486 SX 33 mhz, 4 mb ram) + a Soundblaster 16 sound card. Later, the Swedish home PC reform led to my father buying several personal computers in the end of the 1990s. After the millennium shift, I switched to building my own computers from parts as a student.
